Prices are indicative for the 2026 high season (July and August) and generally include a skipper. Fuel, marina fees, food and drinks are usually charged separately.
Tips for the Perfect Day at Sea
- Book at least two to three weeks in advance during July and August. The best boats and skippers are often fully booked by the end of June.
- Leave before 9:30 am. Popular anchorages around Es Vedrà and Formentera become much busier by midday.
- The crossing to Formentera can be choppy when winds pick up. If anyone in your group is prone to seasickness, an Ibiza catamaran offers greater stability.
- Bring a waterproof dry bag for phones and cameras—you’ll almost certainly end up swimming.
- Watching the sunset from the water near Cala Conta or Es Vedrà is unforgettable. Ask your skipper to plan your return during golden hour.
- If you’re staying in northern Ibiza, departing from Puerto de San Miguel or Cala Gració can save between 30 and 40 minutes compared with leaving from Ibiza Town.
When Is the Best Time to Hire a Boat?
The sea is warm enough for swimming from late May until October, but the ideal months for boat hire in Ibiza are late June, September and early October.
The weather is still excellent, anchorages are much quieter and charter prices are noticeably lower than during the peak summer weeks.
September, in particular, offers the perfect balance. The island remains lively, the sea is at its warmest, and you’ll often find yourself anchored in places that would have been crowded with dozens of boats just a few weeks earlier.
